The support of Florida's elected officials
and the legislation they pass are critical to the development
of the state's high speed rail system.
Legislative Update
During the 2004 legislative session, the Authority received
the necessary approval to use the federal funds allocated
by the Federal Railroad Administration. No funds were designated
for the Florida High Speed Rail Authority in 2004 from
the State. No action relative to high speed rail was taken in the 2005 or 2006 legislative sessions.
